Medicare for the first time or have been on Medicare for a while, understanding your coverage and benefits can be overwhelming, especially since you can be bombarded by mail, media, email, and over the phone! It is very important to understand your rights as well as the right steps you need to take in your given situation and to avoid any penalties. In addition, it’s important to know what plans are available to choose from when reviewing your coverage during annual open enrollment. Come learn how to be a smart and educated consumer so you will always feel you are in control and know how to access your healthcare in the way that is best for you.

About Christopher Hashimoto:
Christopher Hashimoto has worked with older adults through Lutheran General Hospital’s Adult Daycare program for more than 2 years and is now the Senior Services Coordinator at Good Shepherd Hospital. Hashimoto provides Medicare navigation as a Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselor, certified through the State of Illinois. He is able to help people with Part A & B applications, find supplements, Part Ds and Advantage plans, plan for retirement, and navigate Medicare’s murky waters all free of charge.
