Wednesday 04/10/2024 04:30 PM - 06:00 PM
American House Oak Park
703 Madison St., Oak Park, IL 60302

An In-Person Event

Participants will be introduced to the allied-health professional field of music therapy, gaining knowledge about the type of work that music therapists do, who they serve, and how they can help support clients. Information will be shared about why music is an effective tool across the continuum of care, specifically with people who have diagnoses of dementia, neurological disorders (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, post-stroke), neurodiversity, or are receiving hospice care. Case examples will be featured in order to learn how music therapists use goal-oriented music interventions to address clients’ needs and enhance strengths related to physiological and psychological health, well-being, and quality of life.
