Routine and familiarity are critical to the care of a person living with dementia. Experts say making home modifications early on may help individuals ease into their environment, learn their way around, and grow accustomed to it over time. In this program, we will walk you thru some modification to your home if a person living with dementia will be living in your home and you are the caregiver, or modification to their home.

The Medical Foster Home (MFH) program provides a safe, supportive, long-term care option for Veterans in a comfortable home environment and can serve as an alternative to a nursing home. MFHs are private residences where the caregiver and relief caregivers provide room and board, personal care, and supervision 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) is health care services provided to Veterans in their home. The program is for Veterans who need team based in-home support for ongoing diseases and illnesses that affect their health and daily activities.
