9:00 AM to 10:00 AM - Maintaining Your Sense of Self

Learn how to move forward and maintain your own identity while taking care of a
loved one.
10:15 AM to 11:15 AM - Dementia Live
Presented by Julie Boggess, Director of CMP Grants,
Certified Master Trainer at AGE-u-cate
Dementia Live offers a unique inside-out understanding of
dementia and aging. Participants will gain a heightened awareness of the
challenges faced by those who live with dementia. Learn valuable tips and tools
to improve communication and care.
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM - Understanding the Different
Types of Dementia
Presented by Susan Robbins, Regional Director of Dementia
Training, Arbor Terrace Naperville
For those with dementia, it can be challenging to balance
the desire for independence with the need for safety and assistance. This
session tailors’ individual programs of care and wellness so that each resident
can enjoy maximum independence with precisely the level of support he or she
needs.
1:15 PM to 2:15 PM - Compassion Fatigue
Presented by Sara Lemke, Executive Regional Director at
Symetria Recovery
Compassion fatigue can include emotional, physical, and
spiritual distress in those providing care to another. First learn to recognize
when you're wearing down and then get into the habit of doing something every
day that will replenish you.
2:30 PM to 3:30 PM - Don't Wait for a Crisis - Plan

3:45 PM to 4:45 PM - Eldercare Resources; A
Discussion with a Geriatric Social Worker and Certified Case Manager
Presented by Erin Vogt, Geriatric Social Worker, Dutton,
Casey & Mesoloras, PC
Attendees will learn about the senior care continuum, what
to expect when in a hospital, discharge planning and more in this class.
