By providing a peaceful and supportive environment for those requiring special care we can make a difference. A positive environment can provide an enhanced quality of life for those suffering from dementia disorders and families can rest assured that their loved one is receiving care in an environment designed specifically with them in mind.

One size does not fit all … Our care program is tailored to meet the needs of those affected with a dementia diagnosis including Alzheimer’s disease, Frontal-Temporal dementia, Vascular dementia and Primary Progressive Aphasia.

We understand the varying needs that result from a specific disease and how to make life more meaningful and pleasant. This approach bolsters self-worth and creates a true failure free, less threatening world for those with memory loss. The use of gentle strategies, such as redirection, coaching, cueing and task segmentation, help residents feel good about themselves and their accomplishments. Our approach to resident centered care helps create more satisfying days and meaningful lives for residents and peace of mind for families.

The heart of Harbor House revolves around the interests of our residents. Each resident’s past life roles are honored and activities are designed to engage all of the senses. Physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs are considered in the development of every day’s activities.
Our daily calendar reflects the needs of all individuals to be engaged in meaningful activities; this relieves stress and promotes a feeling of well-being. And we have fun!!!

Frequent outings into the community include restaurants, parks, movie theaters and spiritual services.
Pet therapy and musical groups are weekly visitors to our houses and residents are engaged in daily exercise.

Families are welcome to participate and attend any activity and family friendly events are planned throughout the year.
