Caring for those with memory issues is a very specialized service. At Aspen Woods we exclusively care for those with varying and progressive forms of dementia.
Our purpose is to meaningfully engage each resident at their level. We strive to create an incredibly fun, flexible, and purposeful environment for those who need memory care.
Aspen Woods utilizes resident-centered care, a care strategy that emphasizes an adaptive service plan that meets the holistic needs of a resident and adapts care and services to the unique needs and preferences of each resident. Each person is treated as a unique individual.
This strategy: • Promotes positive well-being • Honors choice • Enhances dignity • Empowers the resident • Improves quality of life • Supports independence
An important aspect prior to your loved one’s move into Aspen Woods involves learning as much as we can about each resident. We want to fully understand their journey and the things that bring them joy in life.
From programming to dining to resident care and building safety and ergonomics, we have great respect for how our residents perceive the world around them, and it is our job and sincere desire to step into that world and provide the safety, engagement and compassionate care our residents require and deserve. Genuine caring is about the tangibles such as medications and help day-to-day personal care. As important are the intangibles, those things a family knows, such as remembering that your mother loves a cup of Earl Gray tea in the late afternoon or that dad enjoys his morning walk. At Aspen Woods, the feeling of family is essential to the well-being of our residents.
The entire team at Aspen Woods is required to attend monthly in-person classes that focus solely on caring for those with forms of dementia. We design individual care plans that help each resident live to the best of their abilities.
