What Does it Mean to Age in Place?

Aging in place refers to when an individual chooses to age in the comfort of their home. A person’s home is anything they consider home, whether that’s a house they’ve lived in for decades or a senior community they’ve recently chosen to settle in. The idea of aging in place is to ensure seniors are comfortable and confident in their environment— and sometimes that means working with a provider to receive a form of home care.

What’s the Difference Between Palliative and Hospice Care?

Palliative care and hospice care share similarities, but they are two separate types of care. Palliative care is for individuals with a serious illness. The goal of palliative care is to help ease symptoms and offer physical, mental, and emotional support.

Hospice care is for individuals facing a life-limiting illness, such as cancer. During hospice care, medical professionals are no longer working to cure the overall illness. Instead, the goal of hospice care is to ease the symptoms of the individual's condition so they can have the highest quality of life in their final moments.
