What is Self-Sabotage?

Self-sabotage is the behaviors and thought patterns that keep you from achieving the success and happiness you know you deserve. Self-sabotage shows up differently for everyone, but primarily shows up in one of three ways.

Self: This type of sabotage is when you focus on what’s wrong with yourself and define yourself by your past mistakes.
Others: This type of sabotage focuses on what’s wrong with others and how the actions of others are negatively affecting your life. This sabotage often gets into inferior/superior comparisons.
Circumstances: This sabotage insists that life circumstances or outcomes are to blame for how things in your life are evolving, instead of seeing opportunities as gifts.

Understanding the differences between these types of sabotage can help you identify which you’re prone to and how you can start combating it.
