Thursday October 14, 2021 - Emily Groezinger
COVID-19 brought with it several difficulties, but one of the most challenging was shortfalls and inability to make rental or utility payments. This affected not only families with young children, but many seniors who lost part-time and full-time jobs during the pandemic. Cook County Emergency Rental Assistance understands that and created the COVID-19 Recovery Emergency Rental Assistance Program. If you have experience financial hardship during the pandemic and need assistance to pay your rent and/or utility bills, you may be eligible for Cook County Emergency Rental Assistance.
Have you experienced financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Do you have a current or future obligation to pay rent, utilities, and/or other housing-related expenses?
Is your household annual income at or below these requirements?
If you answered yes to all four questions, you are eligible to apply for assistance. Be sure to apply soon as the cut-off for applications is October 29, 2021.
Remember there is no age limit for this assistance, so all qualified individuals should apply.
If you do not qualify for this program, there may still be assistance available.
