Center of Concern
Since 1978, the Center of Concern has been a source of hope and inspiration to thousands of clients and volunteers whose lives have been enriched by our programs. We are here to inform, advocate and intervene on behalf of residents struggling with challenges related to aging, homelessness, and accessing resources to remain independent in their homes. All of our programs share a common purpose: supporting families and strengthening the community. The talents of our experienced staff, trained volunteers, and longstanding community partners band together to provide compassion, experience, and insight to help residents overcome isolation and significant challenges to remain independent. Our services are a lifeline to ensure the well-being of residents struggling to make ends meet on low fixed incomes, lack of affordable housing, and rising costs of medical care. Please email us or call us directly to learn more about how you might be able to make a difference — in your life and the lives of others in need. As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions.

Devices for the Disabled
We refurbish used medical equipment that otherwise would end up in landfills. We provide it for free to those who need it most: those without insurance, who are underinsured or lack the finances to purchase the equipment they desperately need. D4D accepts durable medical and mobility equipment in operational condition. Please clean all equipment prior to donating. We do not take large items such as van lifts, porch lifts, or stair lifts for inside a home.

Safe Moves for Seniors - Chicago Chapter
Safe Moves for Seniors’ mission is to make sure that anyone without the financial resources to move from their current home to another home for any reason will not be denied services that include packing, transport and unpacking. We help choose qualified, affordable, and respectful moving companies and 3rd party services. We supervise all aspects of the move and pack for our clients who need help. With this initiative, our goal is to promote opportunities for our clients to move when THEY choose to move and not just be at the mercy of an available friend or neighbor "might" be able to help.
