Porter Place

Alzheimer's Care
Dealing with dementia is never easy, and neither is choosing the right memory care community for a loved one. This is why Porter Place pledges to make things as simple as possible for you and your loved one. We pledge to you to help you with difficult decisions through education and human connections. We pledge to our residents to fulfill their desire and make them feel understood and significant. Our staff of highly-trained dementia care specialists will supervise your loved one's condition and provide them with unparalleled personal care and attention.

Resident-Centered Care

We know that no one wants to feel lonely, helpless, or bored, and that these emotional states are particularly distressing for seniors with dementia. We also know how hard it can be for a spouse or other family member to assist a loved one in need of dementia care.

Technology in Service of Care

All our residents have access to the It's Never 2 LateTM (iN2L) computer system, a technology that allows seniors no matter their prior skills or abilities to use computers for recreation, learning, mental stimulation, and to connect with their loved ones.

Engaging Our Residents

We provide our residents with life-enriching diversity through meaningful activities, interactive events, and engaging, purposeful tasks that gives them a break from routine and prevent them from feeling isolated.

Music Therapy

Music has a profound effect on the mental, emotional, spiritual, and even physical wellbeing of all people, but is especially enriching for those with cognitive loss. It can stimulate memory, help lessen anxiety, depression, and sadness, decrease feelings of loneliness and isolation, and even stimulate health.

Children's Visits

Multigenerational programming brings smiles and delight to both young ones and seniors. You can see the eyes light up, the smiles spread wider, and the spontaneous giggles erupt. The tenderness of these moments is touching and impossible to deny.

Pet Visits

Just like our children visitors, furry friends bring a level of enthusiasm to our residents that lights up the place with joy and delight. The positive effects of pet therapy on seniors are well known; but you need only see their faces light up when a friendly animal walks into our center to understand its amazing impact.

Custom Menus & Nutrition

Nutrition is critical to the health and wellness of those with cognitive impairment. This is why we offer a very specialized menu to each of our residents. We work together with your loved one's physician to determine the most beneficial nutrition and meal plan.
