Anam Glen

Adult Day ServicesAt Anam Glen, we provide a peaceful and supportive home for individuals needing help with personal care, especially for those with memory loss. Our programs of care can make a big difference - for family caregivers and the individual needing such care. A positive environment can improve your loved one’s outlook and how much enjoyment they get from each day. To many families delight, their relationships are enhanced from the extra help and guidance.

Anam Glen is built around Anam Cara, a beautiful understanding of love and friendhip in the Celtic tradition. A basis for Anam Cara is the spiritual belief of souls connecting and bonding. When you establish such a bond with another person and become open and trusting with them, your souls flow together. Should such a bond be nurtured, you have found your Anam Cara, or soul friend.

Alzheimer's CareIn everyone's life there is a need for such a friend - one who accepts and understands you without mask or pretension. Anam Cara means that we are responsible for providing the best of care, for nurturing our residents and guests, and to always cherish another more highly than oneself.

Anam Glen caregivers are truly caring and compassionate people. They receive specific training is assisted living and memory care, and then, we train them in the Anam Cara way. Partnerships with home health agencies, hospice and other medical professionals help with medical monitoring including vital signs, medications, and overall health concerns.

Anam Glen has developed its own unique programs to meet resident needs. Our approach to resident-centered care helps create satisfying days and meaningful lives for residents, and peace of mind for families.

Here are a couple specifics:

~Comfort through Aging in Place - This means residents and their families never have to deal with the physical and emotional trauma of a move from one care setting to another

~Life Enrichment - Enriching one's life starts with a thorough history and assessment, asking about accomplishments, occupations and hobbies.
Memory Care We work with families to build a Life Story Book, used in reminiscing.

We are a 16-bed assisted living facility specializing in care of Alzheimer's residents and those with other memory impairment disorders. Our care program is tailored to meet the specialized needs of all who are afflicted with a dementia, including Alzheimer's, Lewy Body, Parkinson's and Frontal-temporal dementia.

We understand that making choices for an older loved one is difficult. We have been in your shoes ourselves. Our small size, personal approach, and experience will give your loved one or friend a comfortable place to live where they feel welcomed, involed, and secure.
