At The Birches, it looks and feels like home. That’s because it is home since opening in 1999. Our owner-operated boutique community in Clarendon Hills, IL has the tenure leadership, personalized quality care, and the experienced senior living community you have been looking for.

As a Successful Aging focused community and certified as the only Montessori Inspired Lifestyle senior living in Illinois, The Birches thrives on a positive aging experience, creates a supportive resident environment that promotes choice, dignity, and respect to empower our members to choose to live everyday their way. With experienced team members to provide quality support and transportation, and professional partners to provide on-site therapy or preventative care such as a visiting dentist, podiatrist, audiologist and more, The Birches has it all and is flexible enough to implement new best practices and trends to meet our members needs and interests anytime.

Assisted Livingo Rummikub Club, and more (it is up to the residents to add more Clubs too!),

Our team is here to support our residents with as much or as little as they need when they need it.

Assisted Living at The Birches:

From Independent Lifestyle to Assisted Living support, our residents can be as active as they choose to be without the requirement to move when they need more hands-on support. Private apartments with walk-in showers, pet-friendly environment, active aging support with a culture focused on growth, resident choice, and balanced wellness, medication management options by only licensed professionals, state-of-the-art silent paging emergency system, resident selected TV channels, homemade meals with special diet options, and quality tenure care staff available 24/7 are just some highlights of Birches’ one-of-a-kind boutique community.

Memory Care at The Birches:

Our specialized secured memory care neighborhood of 32 private apartments with private walk-in showers and state-of-the-art “passive” individualized emergency paging system, located within our assisted living building for neighborly inclusivity and connectedness, was specially designed for those living with cognitive loss in mind.

Below are some of the ways we exceed all expectations when it comes to supporting individuals living with memory loss:
• A secured walkout patio with access to a winding walking-path for physical wellness, gardening to support our beehives, or to just relax by our large pond to watch the ducks and turtles
• Structured programming 12 hours a day by dedicated enrichment coordinators focused on balancing a Successful Aging lifestyle using Montessori techniques, and other best practices
• Residents become volunteers contributing to their everyday environment through resident-driven Clubs, leading programs supporting their interests and passions, assisting with decorating their home, welcoming new neighbors, ability-centered jobs within the neighborhood, and much more!
• Dedicated licensed nurse within the neighborhood for personalized support for residents or their families with supervision from our on-site full-time registered nurse,
• Tenure quality care team that exceeds regulatory minimum training standards with additional professional dementia training provided by RUSH Alzheimer’s Research Center and the Center for Applied Research in Dementia, occupational certifications, and much more.

Our community is passionate and dedicated on creating an inclusive community regardless of age and ability to create exceptional moments for those living with memory loss to age healthier and happier.
