Alzheimer's Care

Silverado Peoria is a state-of-the-art memory care community designed from the ground up to help residents remain social while they continue enjoying the things that were important to them before their diagnosis. From its comfortable, airy rooms and large windows to the openness of its well-groomed outdoor areas, it's clear that Silverado Peoria is much more than assisted living. The community offers a bright, lively atmosphere where high quality of life is fundamental. Silverado communities welcome pets and strong family involvement, because to us the “normal” things are the best things.

Silverado associates provide compassionate, individualized care that is focused on mind and spirit just as much as it is on body. From residents in the early stages of memory impairment to those needing a high level of dementia care, meaningful engagement and dignified treatment are constants in Silverado communities.

Activities, Amenities and Features

•One mile off the 101 freeway - no dealing with surface street traffic to visit loved ones.

•Engagements (specialized activities) that are age-appropriate, build self-esteem, maintain dignity and offer opportunities for growth and creativity. Club programs are designed with the resident’s abilities, interests and histories in mind. The goal of all programs is to have fun, prevent boredom, boost self esteem, socialize and create opportunities for new experiences.

•Located in a medical complex with doctor’s offices offering a range of practice areas, independent living (for spouses who want to live nearby) and assisted living – everything is nearby convenience and peace of mind.

•Four acre property with plentiful outdoor space, central courtyards and walking paths that run almost 360 degrees around the property. These encourage mobility and help maintain strength and balance. Along with these, water features, a built in BBQ and raised gardening areas help to foster a sense of independence and freedom while maintaining safety.

•Community is made up of “neighborhoods” catering to residents’ senior living needs, abilities and interests. Care and programs are tailored to meet the specific functional level of each individual resident. Programs within each neighborhood challenge each person appropriately without being too simple or frustrating. Associates are trained to meet the social, cognitive and behavioral needs of residents through advanced communication skills and techniques to prevent or intervene in disruptive behaviors.

•Warm, lively interior with large resident bedrooms, purposeful activity rooms, demonstration kitchens and a country store for residents to shop in. By creating a familiar environment of home and community we can avoid a clinical feel that can cause stress and confusion among those with memory impairment.

•Spa room for residents to enjoy manicures, pedicures and more, as well as an on-site salon for residents’ beauty needs. Looking and feeling their best is vital in residents' quality of life.

•Playground encourages family members to bring children for visits while providing residents a wonderful focal point to enjoy their youthful energy.

•Serene desert landscape – street, courtyard and nearby spaces are lined with palm trees, giving a sense of space.

•Large grand piano for live entertainment and local school recitals.

•Well-developed surrounding neighborhood offers numerous options for stimulating, entertaining outings and activities, whether with family or supervised by Silverado associates:
?Outings to Mariners and Padres spring training games at the nearby Peoria Sports Complex (January through March)
?Holiday festivals and craft fairs at the sports complex
?Nearby senior recreation centers – residents get a card that gets them into rec centers with activities, plays, concerts, etc.
