Energy Efficiency Tips

Energy efficiency is about making small changes in your home to help reduce your energy usage, and ultimately, reduce your bill.
  • Adjust your thermostat. Keeping your thermostat around 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and 68 degrees in the winter can help you save on your heating and cooling bills.
  • Seal doors and windows. Using caulk or weather strips along doors and windows can help contain heat and cool air inside your home.
  • Maintain your HVAC system. Taking care of AC systems and furnaces keeps them efficient and makes them last longer.
  • Use energy-efficient light bulbs. Replace your light bulbs with LED Energy Star-certified light bulbs. They use less electricity and last longer than other lightbulbs.
  • Install faucet aerators. These mesh attachments mix air into the water stream to save water.
