Life after the military can be challenging for some veterans. Homelessness and self-harm rates are continuing to rise, and without strong connections, some veterans aren’t able to find the resources they need to live the quality of lives they deserve.
 

Jim Dolan, Director of Veteran Outreach for Veterans Path to Hope, shares powerful insights on getting upstream of Veteran suicide and what we can all learn from the Veteran experience about overcoming trauma, navigating transition, and moving beyond survival to truly thrive.

What is Veterans Path to Hope?

Veterans Path to Hope provides veterans and their families with the services needed to experience hope and achieve success. The organization offers a variety of services, such as transitional living services to help veterans find shelter, providing veterans with basic needs like food and hygiene items, employment services to help veterans find work, and mental health and recovery support. Veterans Path to Hope also hosts various events to connect veterans and their families.

Veterans Path to Hope has a headquarters in Crystal Lake, Illinois, and ancillary sites in Hebron, Rockford, Grayslake, and Chicago. The agency primarily serves McHenry, Lake, Cook, Winnebago, and Kenosha counties, as well as the surrounding areas. Any veteran in need is welcome to reach out, even those not living in Illinois or Wisconsin. Veterans Path to Hope will strive to connect all veterans with the services they need to improve their lives.
