Bright Oaks of Aurora Assisted Living

Assisted LivingWelcome to Bright Oaks, a completely new kind of community for those looking to enjoy a fulfilling and purposeful life. Situated on the banks of the Fox River, Bright Oaks of Aurora offers family-style living in a serene setting close to urban amenities.

Bright Oaks is unique among senior communities, featuring a whole new life concept in senior living we call Purposeful Family Living. The goal of Purposeful Family Living is to help people live the life that is suited for them, surrounded by people who understand and want the same.

Memory CareAt Bright Oaks of Aurora, we don’t believe people should move to a place to quietly live out the rest of their lives. We believe people must continue to grow, explore new things and make new memories, and do it all where, when, and how they choose. That’s why we call our communities Assisted Independence—because they provide independence at all times, with assistance on demand.

We offer Assisted Independence Master Suites configured in studio and one-bedroom designs—each with a large, private bath featuring a curbless shower and a kitchenette with microwave, sink, and mini-refrigerator. These Master Suites allow the desired independence and privacy, but also offer technology that allows the Family Member immediate access to assistance at times when they need it. With 60 private Master Suites, Bright Oaks of Aurora provides premier lifestyle amenities and a level of care that only the most loving families can match.

Most activities in Assisted Independence households at Bright Oaks are determined by Family Members and the proactive Family Advisory Councils. All you have to do is tell us what activities and experiences you'd like to have and our Life Guides (Activity Aides) will take it from there; creating a set of customized household favorites that will keep you engaged every day.

Respite CareBright Oaks Memory Care is so different we gave it a special name—New Journeys—because every day is a self-fulfilling new journey for each Family Member. Our New Journeys neighborhoods are designed to keep their members active and social through evidence-based approaches, including music, art, interaction, and other forms of neurocognitive stimulation that encourages the brain to continue working hard. Our environments are designed to bring calmness by reducing confusion and managing compound stimulations that may result in agitation and discontent. Bright Oaks offers The Bridge, which is an innovative concept which enables couples to continue to live together, even when one needs memory-related care.

Our New Journeys Activity Program encompasses the 7 Dimensions of Wellness: Intellectual, Social, Spiritual, Emotional, Physical, Environmental, and Vocational. We include specialized therapeutic programs such as Animal Assisted Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy and Aromatherapy in to our monthly activity programs.

The purpose of our Respite Care Program is to cater to the needs of the individual who is in need of additional care and assistance when transitioning from a brief hospital stay or skilled nursing stay with the intent of returning to their own home, or would greatly benefit by making Bright Oaks their new home. The time an individual will utilize the Respite Care Program will vary based on their individual care needs. Therefore we offer a per diem rate as opposed to a monthly rate. The minimum length of stay is 14 days.
