Our intricately designed environment offers an optimal setting that is noninstitutional and resident-focused to enable residents to maintain their independence for as long – and safely – as possible. This unique approach to care also respects their dignity, acknowledges their need for both privacy and community engagement, provides focused and appropriate stimulation, engages residents, and encourages the participation of loved ones.

Each neighborhood is designed to meet the needs of individuals at every stage of their journey. This innovative approach to treatment meets residents’ immediate needs as well as potential future needs with our continuum of care.

Each neighborhood offers various evidenced-based, therapeutic programs and activities designed for the care of people with memory care challenges. Our daily Life Enrichment Program is delivered by trained and licensed memory care professionals and promotes structure, consistency, enjoyment and socialization, while alleviating confusion and disorientation.

Secured Memory UnitAdditionally, the design of the neighborhoods includes sensory stimulation to promote independence and enhance safe navigation. The use of aromatherapy and other therapies highlight the innovative approaches to care that our memory care design team developed to assist your loved one in living life to the fullest.

Every Alden Courts of Huntley employee is provided with initial and ongoing memory care-specific education and training. Our staff learns about the disease process and a wide range of evidence-based techniques and specialized interventions to help them interact and provide person-centered care to residents throughout their journey. All staff is required to have a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education in dementia care annually. Topic areas may include ability-centered care; dignity; individuality and choice; medical needs, including pain management and fall prevention; communication strategies; programming implementation; collaborative care; non-pharmacological behavioral interventions; symptom management; and utilizing resources.
