An In-Person Professional Event
Psychotropic medications can be considered inappropriate when their risk jeopardizes the appropriate and expected outcomes. In this session, we will review the types of psychotropics, classifications and those most used in dementia care. You will also learn the affects, side effects and the meaning of those black box warnings. We will go over the CMS guidelines for psychotropics use and when your agency or physician is out of compliance. We will complete the session by discussing treatment and management of behaviors without the use of psychotropics.
