Advanced Pain Management - Pain Management at End-of-Life

This presentation will discuss the 4 steps in the Pain Process:
~ Transduction – How pain is felt & why
~ Transmission – How pain is transmitted through the body
~ Perception – How the brain processes pain
~ Modulation – How to inhibit pain

Presented by: Dr. Howard Weiss
Dr. Weiss, the Medical Director of Medical Pain Management Services, has specialized in medical pain management since 1992. He became a Board-certified anesthesiologist in 1988, received a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Pain Management in September 1993, and was Board-certified in Hospice & Palliative care in 2013 He has been Chairman of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee at OSF since 2003, and a member of the Committee since 2000.

Registration Sign-in and Light Dinner: 5:00pm – 5:30pm
Presentation: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

There is no fee to attend this program, though advanced registration is required.
